1.  Internal policy subcommittee (policies and practice within BASC)

Fleeger, chair  & Mathews constitute this subcommittee

issues such as:  research faculty workload policy coacervation of summer internship programs led by the college outreach, facilitating, interpreting and assessing meetings of the college advisory panel (industrial & other advisors) a document that advises young faculty members on promotion & tenure policies of the College a better form for student evaluations of faculty.  the short duration of service on the College Policy Committee ensures that many faculty get a voice, but is it too short to accomplish changes requiring some persistence?  Might we do better with slightly longer terms and a faculty forum?

2.  Subcommittee on University Policy as it affects BASC

McCarley, chair, Chan and Traxler constitute this subcommittee

issues such as:  FS Resolution 03-09 (review of administratorsFaculty Senate resolution 03-09 ( http://senate01.lib.lsu.edu/facsen/Resolutions/sr03_09.htm ) a better way to handle the Economic Development Assistantships. continued oversight of the Chancellor's Task Force on Administrative Policy (as but one example, why routing sheets had to be reworked some months ago, when that information was previously gathered).

3.  Subcommittee on strategic planning

    Frank, chair and Henry  constitute this subcommittee

	smoothing the path for interdisciplinary activities
	planning for the future: what do the faculty want to do, and does it matter?
